I will post about the View from the Visitor's Chair,
Suffice to say, Gom is home, safe and reasonably 'Sound'.
His life was saved on Christmas Night.
Thanks are due to the wonderful care he recieved, and the dedication of Doctors and Nurses in our local Public Hospital.
I would also add, the Specialist Doctor who cared for Gom, was dedicated to his job. Every day, from 23rd of December, until Gom's discharge on 5th January, that Doctor visited Gom, to keep a check on his progress.
It seemed to be dedication over and above his calling, especially during the Christmas and New Year period.
Gom is much happier to be home, if not stronger, at least more comfortable, in familiar surroundings.
Now, we watch with horror, the unfolding events in Queensland, where our fellow country folk suffer untold grief and misery, enduring the hideous floods, and resulting devastation.
We remain
Slim Dusty, When the Rain Tumbles Down In July. (Not strictly the correct time of year.)

very good blog, congratulations
regard from Reus Catalonia
thank you
Oh Meggie, I am so thankful he is home with you. I have been thinking of you so often, and praying that he would be ok, and that you would stay strong. Thank heavens for caring doctors.
The floods are the main news item here too. So much devastation. Keep warm and safe.
I am so glad to hear Gom is home and so much better. I join in your admiration and appreciation of the care given to him in hospital, and hope that you are taking care of yourself as well as him.
The devastation of the floods is dreadful- so many people who have suffered, and for whom recovery will be slow and difficult.
I'm so happy to hear that GOM is safely home with you. We're only hearing tidbits about the floods here -- I learn more from the blogs. It all looks so devastating and sad.
Glad you have GOM home and that you are dry - we see the terrible devastation those floods are causing on our screens each night and our hearts go out to those who have lost everything. Take care.
Love

So glad the GOM is home. I'm sorry for this period you're living through.
Glad to know GOM is home now and comfortable. Hoping your fellow countrymen survive the devastation.
I'm glad to hear GOM is on the mend. Keeping you in my thoughts.

Good news about GOM. Not so good about the floods. Stay strong, Meggie.
I have been thinking of you during this trying time. Am so glad that GOM is home and that you are warm and dry.
So glad to have news of GOM. I had been worrying daily about you both.
Too much to worry about in Brisbane and surrounds. R's brother lives at NewFarm right by the River Walk that has been damaged. He is safe. Oh what a shocking mess to clean up for everybody.
We hoped 2011 would be better than 2010, but this is not a good start.
Stay safe. It's hot and very very busy here...but that's no reason to complain...boring can be good.
Hugs for you Meggie, from Ali.
Good to hear Gom is home with you - but don't forget to make time for yourself. I can remember the 1974 Brisbane floods, from the safety of New South Wales.....but of course much more development has taken place on what was then unoccupied land, so it will be worse this time around.
Good to hear from you. Glad you and GOM got home and are not in danger from the flooding. I have seen the pictures and read stories of what is going on over there. XOXO
Good news about GOM!
We have been following the news. The Tramp has friends in Queensland and we are worried for them and everyone else.
I have been thinking about you and GOM ,Meggie, and hoping that you had good news.
So lovely to see that he is doing better.
I am saddened to see all the floods in Queensland- it must be so terrifying for all the people living in the area.
May the New Year continue to see GOM grow stronger and healthier.
Warmest regards,
Anna
It's good that Gom is home but it has been a stressful time for you too so don't forget to take care of yourself and do something to de-stress.
We are watching what is happening in Queensland with disbelief.
So glad (for you both) he's home, Meggie. We seem to be in a similar position with Dad at the moment and the plain truth is, he's just happier at home. I think having the things and people you hold near and dear and to be in surroundings you are comfortable in is invaluable.
I'm so glad to hear that GOM is back at home. We too are watching in horror at what is happening in Queensland. I'm thankful that you, GOM, and the furbabies are safe and dry. I've had you on my mind a lot lately. Love and Hugs, my dear friend.
Great to hear that Gom is home Meggie, I hope he continues to improve and is comfortable.
The flooding there is horrendous, we see reports each evening on our news.
Slim Dusty was a favourite of my late dads'. He especially loved 'The pub with no beer'!
So pleased to read this good news.
Gom is lucky indeed, and blessed to have you as a wife.
xxxx
Great news re GOM, hopefully he will be up and about and getting in your way before you know it! :-)
Welcome home to your GOM. Take good care of him for us. Take care of yourself too and don't wear yourself out.
Oh Meggie sorry to hear you had such a stressful time. Hope things are all right now and hope GOM is gaining stregth and good health.
I read the last post as well. Wonderful. I have had on two occacions feather signs from angels. I am a believer now.
Good news about GOM, it must have been a dreadful scare to you too, so I hope you have recovered as well x
So, so, so thankful he is home with you once again. x
