Do You Think???

Do you think, there are times when you miss someone, who has died, and passed out of your life, ... you miss them soooo much you dream them back into your life??

I think this must be true. Because I keep dreaming of my friend, who is gone.
I keep holding his living body in my dreams.
I keep feeling his living body, the warmth, the joy, the life force.
His vital, living being, ... I feel it still, in my dreams.
I enfold his physical body. I crush him to my warmth with love and affection.

We were never physical lovers, yet I feel his presence. I feel his body, his being.
Which goes against all I believe of how we are.

His favourite song for us...

Mary Hopkin, Those Were The Days My Friend.

I suppose of dream of them, but never that they are back as living people. I have not heard that song for many many years - I loved it very much and it was a delight to listen to it again.

Meggie I am sure you can dream them back into your life if they were important to you back then especially as we ourselves grow older and sometimes wonder "what if..."!

I think like you. I feel the presence of my mother near me and when I go to sleep I hope to see she in my dreams and sometimes that happen.

No matter how close we were, I've never felt any connection to someone who died---much to my dismay.
That song was one of my favourites way back!

I know it's true - I've done it, too.

It is very possible to dream someone back into your life. I believe that it is in one way a coping mechanism, as well as a simple reminder of the feelings said person engendered in us. I have dreamed of both my late grandfathers and even though ,in the dream, I seem to understand it isn't rational they be alive, I am able to take comfort from the fact that I have the chance to be close to them and talk to them again. When all is said and done, I think it just comes down to remembering someone you loved.

Strange. I just yesterday finished a book written by a friend of mine that centers on reincarnation. It's called "The Key of Life" if you're interested.

I just popped that song into Pandora -- and believe it or not, they didn't have it on file. Since I was reminded of Kurt Weil, I popped Lotte Lenya's name into the search box & turned up another goose egg. Too bad; I've got several nice "radio stations" playing on Pandora.

Sounds like you have great memories and love for this person...I often dream of my Mom, so I know what you mean! I love that song, too.

I had the dream you are speaking of just the other night and was reminded of it when i read another blog about someone else dreaming of her dead mother....... Seems it is not all that unusual. Mine was very comforting. I dreamed of my son who has just died and I can't recall any words at all, although I know that we were talking. I was left with such a feeling of love and peace. I tried to drift back to sleepand recapture the dream, but could not. The feelings were very intense and hard to put words to, but I think I know exactly what you are talking about.

My sister worried after her husband died... she couldn't dream about him, but his mother could.

I dream sometimes of my grandmother and aunt who have passed on... the dreams are always good...

It has only happened a few times in the last 16 years but every now and then my Dad appears in my dreams. That is very comforting.

Funny timing of that post, Meggie. I have just recently found someone who had gone from my life years ago, he's alive and well and in Sydney so not far but were best friends for quite some years in our late teens/early 20s...I guess he was my first real friend who was male, like you never lovers but the WWW being what is it we have caught up again and it's like no time has passed at all.

Sometimes, I have had dreams involving those who have gone, which are so real that I have to check whether they are really dead or whether I imagined it.

After my father died, I had dreams of his for months - many of them were not comforting dreams, but quite graphically horrific.

When we are asleep who knows where we go and what we do? I hope your dreams bring you a little comfort (((meggie))) x
