Qulting Excitement!

I suspect this may be seen as blatant advertising, which I am dead agianst!

But, these following friends are featured in the current addition (Feb) of "Quilters Companion" magazine. It is worth the effort to obtain it, for the wonderful projects. But most of all for these talents. "Peppermint Patcher", Tracey Peterson.
Kellie Wulfsohn., of Don't Look Now.
Wonderful Aussie talent! Delightful designs of absolute original thought!

But I feel like jumping up & down, & saying "These are my friends!!" "
"They are Bloggy Friends I have had for ages!"

Please visit them & appreciate their brilliance!
It is so exciting to read, & watch the progress of someone of talent, & brilliance, develop & gain recognition.
Please visit this Blog, & follow the links. You will find other links to blog sites & wonderful, exciting, modern, Giveaways.
Innovative ideas. Bright Original designs!

Kellie!!
This lady is featured in the magazine Quilters Comanion too. Kellie's designs are so bright & colourful, she is instantly appealing to children.

Since she had 4 children of her own, we can see she has plenty of material to work with, & has a unique understanding of what children like Love!
Kellie's designs are fresh & unique.

Feeling a bit guilty here, as we have had a lovely cool day, & I have achieved no sewing miracles!! Naughty!! I did read many chapters of my current reading project, so time not wasted!

Pheobe Snow, Poetry Man. I really love her voice, & hate what was done to her career.

Sneaking 2 favourites. Odetta, Pheobe Snow, & Janis Ian.
Hymn.

Goodness me, I'm your first comment! Yes, aren't those wonderfully talented people!

Love to see your flower pictures. January here is a very dead month in the garden.

Hello from Greece,

now I am a quilt (and blanket) person myself (not in the making but using!). In greece it can get pretty cold, espesially this time of year, so there is nothing like a warm blanket to keep you company!

Now talent is something to put on a cover so...great job!

Take care now
peace and love
xoxo

Odetta, Phoebe and Janis Ian - haven't heard or thought much about them since ... well, a very long time.

What a lovely hymn.

You are still the beauty queen you were on your wedding day!!!

As always your blog is a treat to read.
Re: comments... Both ways have their advantages - putting the answer on as a comment gives regular readers a chance to keep up with the conversation. Answering directly gives more info to the comment maker, but cuts out anyone else who might have the same idea or question. Sometimes I do both - put the answer in as a comment and send a copy of that to the comment maker.

Oh Meggie - your blog delights my soul and seems to echo much of what I'm thinking and feeling. I'm not sure it can get any better than quilts, Phoebe Snow, Odetta and Janis Ian. All very creative and beautiful each in their own way. Phoebe reminds me of my dear friend who taught me to play the guitar back in the very early 60s. She was a big fan too. Also the melody of the song by Odetta is very like "Plasir daMor" (not sure of the spelling)which was song by Joan Baez". Thank you for your wonderful creative way to sharing your world!

Yes! It is great to see talent we "know" like tracey getting recognition in such a popular magazine!

It's all right to talk about your friend's accomplishments. I talk about yours all the time...I'm excited for those quilt makers to get the recognition they deserve.

One of these days, maybe next month so my telephone people tell me, I'm going to get high speed internet, and I'm going to listen to all those songs you end your posts with. Dial up just takes too long......

Glad your weather is improving.. they say we will have a warmer day tomorrow... I hope!

yes indeed...those are fine, happy quilts, very whimsical and beautifully designed. Thanks again for sharing and no, you are not doing crass advertising at all. If you had come upon that website all on your own you would have shared that find with your quilter/blogger friends for sure!

Dear Meggie,

I just wanted to follow up on a comment you left on my blog. Wisdom is a funny thing...it comes in so many different forms and at so many different times. Have my life circumstances given me a tiny glimpse to the big picture...of course. But that doesn't make me wise. Life is funny like that. As soon as you think you have it all figured out you realize how STUPID you really are. Thank you for your kindness. And thank you for sharing your WISDOM with the world! <3 Arden

Yes, I have been pretty ill and I am not confident the new treatment is working. But for many of my aquaintances- they didn't know I was rediagnosed or evenhow serious it is. So I guess yes and no.

I looked it up and the Irish do have some traditions with stones (smooth and colored especially), but from what I have read it seems like they symbolize different things. What have you found?
